A Dysfunctional Pursuit

Engrossed in my desire;
An obvious easy dream –
A Khaki medic void of despair,
Joyous inside-out with gleam.

Met up with all criteria,
And day dreaming in khaki suit.
What a bliss to serve Nigeria?
But a blow hits my resolute.

Throwing down my plough,
I refocused this fading light –
I saw but an obvious trough:
Age limit – a stinking plight!

Verily, my guarantors failed:
A failure in success sense.
For my dream was redirected;
Moving forward with no offense.

Only dead fish swims with a stream –
Gathering my oars, I control the tide.
Leaving behind waters of past dream;
To press against the tides, I glide!
